A really long day

It is now past 3am. We are just about to wrap things up for the day - finally. God, I'm truly looking forward to a shower and my bed...

It's Karaoke Night!

The team had themselves some fun and released some of the accumulated stress and pressure of work at one of the latest karaoke centers in Penang.

However, 2 members were absent from this outing. Jerry had a prior appointment and Michael was on medical leave. Looks like the work load got the better of him. Anyway, the karaoke package included a buffet dinner. Everyone dug in as we needed to re-vitalize ourselves after another tiring day at work and before the karaoke session commences.

Megan certainly had a great time belting out some of her favourite songs...

Although initially most of the us were a little reserved about singing in front of our fellow colleagues but gradually the mood set in and vocal cords started to expand. Edwin, you ought to know better than to do a prank on the person who prepares your salary each month.

And the dashing dudes...By the way, the dude in the center is Chin Wei - the latest trainee graphic designer to join us. He will have first-hand experience of life in an advertising agency for 3 months. If he survives his training here, I guess he will be to survive anywhere else.

Alex also dropped in to show off his talent. Being a "rock star", I guess singing in front of others is second nature to him.

One colour, one desire, one mission...

The design team came to work today in uniform colour. Is it a coincidence or a sign from above? Did destiny bring these 3 inspiring graphic designers together to produce kick-ass work for this agency? We certainly hope so.

Happy Birthday, guys!

Although work has started to pile in again since last week, we managed to find the time to celebrate not one, but two birthdays! And just who are the celebrities for today? It is Kar Yee and Michael. Michael's actual birthday is two days away and we decided to combined it into one big celebration.

Maybe the cake is a little too small to be shared by two but it is the thought that counts, right? Anyway, maybe we will take the traditional approach next year.

Lights...Camera...Action!

A few of the team members had a taste of the Hollywood life when we needed to do a video clip for a client.

The location and the budget may be a little modest but everyone has to start from somewhere, right?

And who is the model you might ask. Well, she's Kar Yee. The latest graphic designer to join the team. Welcome aboard and thanks for being such a good sport!

An equatorial experience

One thing that really stands out about the Equatorial Hotel in Penang is the lush green landscaping...

And the sweeping views of the adjacent golf course...
Anyway, we had a nice dinner at the the hotel's renowned Golden Phoenix Restaurant courtesy of one of our close suppliers.

Now this is what I call fine dining...

Adios Alex...(31/03/2011)

It was Alex's last day with us and we gave him a farewell dinner at the Eastin Hotel.

It is always good to have these little gatherings where everyone can enjoy each others' company and uncoil from all the pressures of work.

I wonder how's the food here?

And the man of the hour himself, Mr. Alex Fan...

No matter what you do Jerry, tonight still belongs to Alex...

Here's Kee giving Alex a little token of appreciation for all his good work and contributions to the company. It is always hard to let a beloved team member go but everyone has to got to find their place in the world. Unfortunately, Alex's quest is not here with us. Take care and all the best, my brother. You will be missed.
